Bheemaneni Sreenivasa Rao has become an experienced director in making remake films. Here he came up with yet another remake movie. ‘Silly Fellows’ starring Allari Naresh and Sunil which is the remake of Tamil movie ‘Velainu Vandhutta Vellaikaaran’ which marked its grand release today. Allari Naresh and Sunil coming together after a long time has perked up interest in all. Silly Fellows is very crucial for both Allari Naresh and Sunil as they are going through a series of flops.

A tailor-turned MLA promises to fulfill his minister’s dying wish of distributing Rs 500 crore among the poor. But there are political rivals who have their own plans for the money. Suri Babu (Sunil) is forced to marry Pushpa (Nandini Rai) to ensure local MLA Jacket Janaki Ram’s (Jaya Prakash Reddy) marriage scheme is a success. The wedding is engineered by his right-hand man Veera Babu (Allari Naresh). Jacket Janaki Ram has ‘Minister garu’s backing but is constantly monitored by his political rivals (Raja Ravindra and Posani Murali Krishna). Inadvertently, the MLA holds the key to the future of all the characters involved, but he gets involved in a road accident and falls into coma, ensuring a comedy of errors.

Allari Naresh never fails to entertain in all his films and does the same in Silly Fellows as well. His performance is neat and he shares a good chemistry with Sunil. On the whole, Silly Fellows is bit better film than Allari Naresh and Sunil’s previous duds. What makes things interesting is the way seasoned comedians lead from the front and make this comedy caper watchable. Pretty formulaic entertainer.
