Abhimanyudu is a dubbed version of the Tamil action thriller Irumbu Thirai, which was recently released and has become hit at the box office. The movie is released in the Telugu states to cash in on the popularity of actor-cum-producer Vishal. Director P.S. Mithran has chosen an interesting concept of cybercrime, which is very relevant to the current issues of Aadhaar Card and Facebook-Cambridge Analytica. The movie boasts rich production values.

The movie is about an army officer Karna played by Vishal, who suffers from his bad temper. He gets suspended for bashing a civilian and is asked to meet a psychiatrist (Samantha). To get his daughter married, Karna’s father tries to procure a loan in the bank but is turned down by all the banks. Later, the loan is approved with the submission of fake documents but the money gets disappeared from the account which leads Vishal to a cybercriminal who is known as White Devil aka Satyamurthy (Arjun). How does Vishal fight against him? The rest of the film answers these questions.

Vishal played the role of an army officer and convinced everyone with his subtle act. Samantha who played the psychiatrist has enough scope for the performance in the movie along with shedding the glamour. Action King Arjun added a lot of weight to his character. All other casts have done justice to their roles. The writing of the movie is decent. Yuvan Shankar Raja’s tunes are pleasant. On the whole, the movie is a much-needed one in the recent times. Just go for it.
